Legends by TimeNET

Legends is a game that was around 2001 to 2002 published by TimeNET, a sister game to Dark Ages (Wikipedia). It’s a game I’ve spent a significant amount of my childhood, but it doesn’t exist anymore. Lot more than that, almost the entirety of the Internet seems to have forgotten about it.

I didn’t remember the name of the game either, making search for it that much harder. So much so, that I thought I was going crazy trying to remember what this was. Was it all just a hallucination? As all searches pulled up no information.

Fast forward to today, while I was going through my backups in CD-R as I plunge into becoming data hoarder–saving everything into a NAS, I came across a corrupted disk named “Back ups Sept 07, 2002.” I thought of just throwing it out, but what you mean just throw it out? I figured I’d delve deeper and see what I can recover with IsoBuster. Lo and behold, there was a folder named “Legends.” Though faint familiarity existed, I wasn’t sure what it was. But when I opened it… it dawned on me. It was the game I was looking for, for ages. Well, at least I wasn’t crazy.

Searching online, even now knowing what it’s called, I can only find a single post made in 2004 on mmorpg.com forums. The internet truly seem to have forgotten this game. Naturally no images of this game exist out there either.

I managed to recover 4 screenshots from my corrupted CD in .pcx format. Thankfully Photoshop was able to make some sense of it with some tweaking. I guess early-era consumer CD-R lasting 24 years isn’t too bad…

While I can’t say these are particularly meaningful or amazing screenshots, these are now the only screenshots of this game you might ever be able to come across in 2026.

Is this a game truly lost to the ages?

Also here’s a print archive of the mmorpg forum link should that ever go away too.
